Shooting

Within 1st Nailsea we are able to teach the art of air rifle shooting to those of scout or explorer age. We do not teach the use of air rifles to Cubs or Beavers as they are generally too small to safely operate the rifles.

Air rifle shooting is about accuracy and this can only be achieved through the right techniques. Shooting is over short distances approximately 6 to 10m so it can be done in the scout hall. We can also shoot away from the scout hall but only on certain land and with the owner’s permission. The law is very strict about the use of guns and we will only shoot within the law. Air rifle shooting is a very safe sport if all the rules are followed. The thrill of being able to hit the centre of a target is evident when someone walks back from the line with a big smile on their face.

Safety is our prime concern at all times that guns are brought to the premises. No guns are kept on the premises.
